Too Hot!

 Dress vintage thrifted
Earrings Forever 21
Necklace Old Navy
Belt?
Wedges Target
We are having a bit of a hot spell in in S Carolina. High today of 97. Add a bucket of humidity and that is a hot mess. I'll be hiding out inside near the fan thank-you-very-much.
Normal temps this time of year are low 80's. That would be so much more enjoyable. It might actually feel like spring instead of the dead of summer!
Not to mention the low at night is 70. There is basically no time to cool off outside. It is just hot. And muggy. Ick.
It's really hard on my kids too. It's just as bad as being cooped up inside when it's freezing outside. They are DYING to go play outside. It looks so nice and sunny from the window. So we do. And after about 5 or 10 minutes I'm rushing back inside to catch my breath. And then they cry because they want to go back out again. So we do. And the cycle continues...
Bring on the popsicles and turn on the hose.

This isn't your grandma's dress...

Or maybe it is?
Definately not made in this decade.
Perhaps it's from the 80's?

Taking in a skirt

I found this skirt at Goodwill last month. It was a bit large.
But I loved the print AND it has pockets!

 Before...

I didn't want to mess with the pockets or front pleats.
So I just added a seam up the back and to out a chunk!

After...

 Top: H&M
Skirt: Thrifted and taken in
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Tahari via TJMaxx
Necklace: Kohl's
Earrings: Forever 21

I am still debating on whether I will take up the length. I love tea length skirts right now! But it might look cute a little shorter too.
To be continued..

Just Relax

Tunic and Earrings from Forever 21
Leggings and Sandals from Target

This is like the most comfy outfit ever. Which is good since I spend most of my days chasing my children, crawling around on the floor, going on walks, and cleaning. And then flopping down on the couch for 10 seconds to rest before getting up and doing it all over again.

I love a good outfit that doesn't cost too much! Finding sales just makes me giddy :)
This shirt was 75% off and only 2.48. The skirt was 90% off and only 5.00. (Neither are recent though. So don't rush over to Target and Kohl's looking for them!)
Happy Place!!

I'm thinking today will be the last day I can wear pants for a while. It's been a bit on the cool side for a few days but it's going to be 80's and 90's for the foreseeable future (10 day forecast).

My Man

I sometimes am envious of women who can borrow their husband's clothes. Their wardrobe can double by grabbing some button-up's and jeans from the other side of the closet. Their "boyfriend" jeans are really their man's. People like me would have to go buy women's jeans that look like men's jeans. And if I want a slouchy button-up I'll have to find my own! My hubby is 6'4" and there is no way I'd fit in any of his stuff!
{But I love him to pieces and wouldn't trade him for nothin'} :)
Do you borrow your man's clothes?

Such a fool

Orange button up and belt thrifted

I really need to think up some new poses. I always do the same thing. So boring. When I get bored, I get silly. When I get silly, I make a fool out of myself. Good times :)

Here are some action shot outtakes. I was trying to whip my hair around all sexy. Yeah. Not so much.

Hot stuff baby.

Shirt Refashion

 Coral shirt from Gap (refashioned)
Capris from Good Will
Cardi from Ann Taylor
Sandals from Target
Jewelry from Forever 21

I found this shirt (long sleeved) at Gaps BOGO Free Women's shirt day last month. It was on clearance for $5.99. I also got a purple one that is the same style. So each shirt was only $3! I loved the color, length, and fit but didn't love the long sleeves for spring and summer! So, I decided it wouldn't be that hard to cut the sleeves into a short-sleeved shirt.

First I laid it out flat (and inside-out). I used another t-shirt for reference on how long I wanted the sleeves (+1" for the hem). I ended up making mine slightly longer just so I'd have some wiggle room if I made a mistake! Then cut! To ensure the sleeves are the same length, use the 1st sleeve as reference for where to cut the 2nd by folding the shirt over and lining up the shoulders.

Fold over the edge and pin it.
Sew all the way around. It will look something like this.
Turn it right side out and press.
 Repeat for the other side!
 And done!

Not too hard right? Now I just need to do the purple one!
