Taking in a skirt

I found this skirt at Goodwill last month. It was a bit large.
But I loved the print AND it has pockets!

 Before...

I didn't want to mess with the pockets or front pleats.
So I just added a seam up the back and to out a chunk!

After...

 Top: H&M
Skirt: Thrifted and taken in
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Tahari via TJMaxx
Necklace: Kohl's
Earrings: Forever 21

I am still debating on whether I will take up the length. I love tea length skirts right now! But it might look cute a little shorter too.
To be continued..

  1. Super cute! Stupid question - how did you get the pockets to stay on the sides and not move back? I have a few skirts with pockets that I'd love to make smaller but I can't figure out how to do it without the pockets being too far back.

  2. How cute! Great job, it looks much better :) I can see it looking great a little shorter too, but I do like this length. Very classy. I'm still looking for a similar necklace - I love it!
